Pietro Pietromarchi


Pietro Pietromarchi was born in 1965 in Venice, Italy. He graduated in Architecture from the Polytechnic of Milan. While working for more than a decade as an architect in Italy, he spent a year in India collaborating with Architect Doshi in Ahmedabad.
During this stay two of his passions merged, the photography and the steam locomotives. It
was the start of a quest to photograph steam trains where they were still running. This 
research ended in two personals exhibitions done in Milan, in 1999 and 2000.
In 2001, he moved to Belgium, where he continues to reside. Further travels have brought
him to the remotest places on earth, such as the Kamchatka peninsula in Russia, for his
photographic interest to natural landscape ; an Exhibition was held in Brussels in 2006. More
 recently, he went to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, a unique vision of another
