Leny Guetta

Born on March 24, 1983, in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, Leny Guetta lives and works in Paris.

A self-taught artist, he developed his own figurative technique, initially grounded in the radical use of four colors — red, yellow, black, and white. From this chromatic constraint emerged portraits of remarkable delicacy and baroque allure. Today, Guetta moves beyond this framework to explore a freer, more poetic and timeless form of painting devoted to the representation of human nature.

Influenced by his engagement with Surrealist and Mannerist painting, Guetta’s works draw viewers into a universe where layers of beauty, color, and staging reveal the full complexity of human emotion. The fabrics adorning his imagined figures converse with subtly contrasted backgrounds, where classical pictorial techniques merge with a contemporary gaze. These surreal figures meet our eyes directly, inviting us into an empathetic encounter with the inner passions they embody.

Les Murmures marks Guetta’s desire to open a new chapter in collaboration with Galerie Minsky, for which I seek to foster a dialogue between contemporary and Surrealist artists — particularly in resonance with the legacy of Leonor Fini.
